Our Shipping & Delivery Policy
1. Intro
1.1 This policy contains details of how we ship and deliver products to you, our customer when purchasing from the Design Yard Webpage.
1.2 The policy is a legally binding document, it forms the contract of sale between you the buyer and us the seller under our Terms and Conditions.
1.3 UK Mainland
UK Mainland when mentioned on our website excludes Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Scottish Highlands, Isle of Scilly, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, Grampians, Channel Islands and any other United Kingdom Territory or Crown Dependencies.
1.4 The Design Yard Products
Means all products under the House Of Jola & The Design Yard brand
2. Delivery
2.1 We offer Free Standard Delivery across The Design Yard stocked product range for orders over £250. £3 delivery charge is Standard for UK Mainland orders under £250 with product coming directly from The Design Yard warehouse.
2.2 Delivery from Mind the Gap, Ibride, Gray Pants, Leon Beton is charged at £12.50 for orders under £250. Free delivery is offered on these branded products for orders over £250. Delivery for BN walls wallpaper is £8.00 for orders under £250 and free for orders over £250.
2.3 All Non UK Mainland Address will be subject to an additional delivery charge, unless otherwise stated. Examples such as a promotion or sale may include free nationwide delivery.
2.4 Home furnishings and made-to-measure products can be shipped everywhere in the UK. Products may be dispatched separately.
2.5 Products made-to-order / bespoke: it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the Upholstery and Furniture will fit into the home and that there is sufficient access for our delivery vehicle to reach the delivery address. Additional charges may apply in certain circumstances.
2.6 Arranging and Completing:
2.7 Once your furniture order is ready, we will call you to arrange a delivery date (which may only be on one allotted day each week in your delivery area due to courier availability). We are unable to agree on specific delivery times and dates requested.
2.8 Approximately two days before the agreed delivery date we will try to call, leave a voicemail message or send a text to confirm the agreed delivery date and estimated time of our arrival. A courier will deliver to your location of choice, provided there is expansive and safe access. Please assist us by clearing pathways and removing fragile items in advance of delivery.
2.9 Products must be carefully checked at time of delivery and signed for by an adult 18 or over. Any defect or damage must be reported to us immediately.
2.10 The Design Yard (House of Jola Ltd) will not be liable for the delay in installation caused by late or failed delivery of your items. The delivery lead time quoted in your order confirmation is an approximation only and can not be guaranteed due to stock availability and delays in making the item.
3. Delivery Methods and additional charges.
3.1 We offer delivery Nationwide of the UK.
3.2 The Design Yard & other branded products
- Standard Delivery £3/£8.00/£12.50 to UK mainland for orders under £250 and free for orders over £250 sales takes 3-5 business days for in stock items - some branded items can take up to 2 - 3 weeks to be delivered to the end consumer. Fabric, wallpaper is subject to stock availability. Individual delivery lead times are stated on the product pages.
- Delivery to other UK regions take 3-7 business days or longer for some branded items where delivery lead times are longer.
- Any bespoke or made to order products there is a minimum delivery lead time of 6 to 8 weeks.
3.4 Non touch shipments. These are shipments sent directly from our manufacturer this will be stated on the product page before purchasing.
3.5 We may conduct fraud checks on any order before we ship the item, this may result in a delay with your shipment, this is done for your own security.
3.6 If you have pre ordered a product from us, the delivery estimates are subject to change and delivery terms will not come into effect until after you have been notified the item has been shipped.
4. International Shipping
4.1 We do not yet offer European or International deliveries.
5. Delivery issues.
5.1 If your item fails to arrive, or you have any other issue with your delivery please contact askus@thedesignyard.co.uk or contact us through one of the recommended sections on our contact page.
5.2 The Design Yard (House of Jola Ltd) will not be liable for the delay in installation caused by late or failed delivery of your items. 5.3 If you are not in to accept delivery of your parcel and the item is returned to us we reserve the right to charge the cost of shipping to you our customer.
Below is a list of situations where we may make an additional charge.
- You the customer provided incorrect delivery details;
- There is a mistake in the address that you provided;
- The delivery address is not easily accessible by the courier;
- The address given cannot be accessed safely;
- If the you the buyer are not in to accept delivery at the chosen address and there is no safe place to leave the goods or any person to accept delivery on your behalf.
6. Returned Undelivered Orders
6.1 If a parcel is returned to us due to any of the reasons stated in section 5.2 above the parcel may be subject to a re delivery charge or re stocking admin fee.
7. Damaged in transit
7.1 If the item arrives to you damaged, please make contact to us through our contact page and our customer care team will resolve the issue with a new item, or if the item is out of stock a full refund/voucher if preferred will be given.
