Annika Reed Studio
Annika is a UK based artist and designer offering unique creations for people who love a life less ordinary. Her love affair with print and colour began in childhood being constantly surrounded by pattern books in her dad’s upholstery workshop. Annika used old swatches of fabric to make homes for toys, cutting them up and using them as carpet and wallpaper in a cardboard box.
All Annika Reed's designs begin with a sketchbook and pen. Designs are refined then hand drawn onto a piece of Asian wood and carved according to age-old practices that Annika learned whilst doing a residency at the University of Shanghai in China. This process of wood carving and painting in layers produces uniquely rich, layered, painterly prints which are then translated via modern digital print processes into exquisite wallpapers and fabrics.
